- The effects of EGF are initiated through tyrosine kinase activity, following the binding of EGF to the extracellular domain of the EGF receptor (EGFR), which results in the triggering of several signal transduction pathways, including the JAK/STAT and P13K/AKT pathways. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA (Sandwich): 0.5-2ug/ml using 100ul/well antibody solution In conjunction with biotinylated anti-rat EGF (143558) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2-0.4ng/ml of recombinant rat EGF. Western Blot: 0.2-0.4ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant rat EGF is 1.5-3ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
