- Extra Details:
- Elk-1, a 62kD transcription factor, is the most abundant component of ternary complex factors that is regulated by phosphorylation and in turn regulates gene expression in response to multiple stimuli. Elk-1 is a substrate of MAP kinase and phosphorylated by ERK2 on several sites in the carboxyl terminus, including serine 383. Phosphorylation of Elk-1 on serine 383 is critical for its transcriptional activity, including Elk-1-mediated transcription of c-Fos. Dephosphorylation of serine 383 by calcineurin downregulates Elk-1 transcriptional activity. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
