- Extra Details:
- The products of the Ectodysplasin A gene (EDA, also called Tabby) are type II transmembrane proteins that belong to the TNF superfamily. The EDA gene encodes two splice variants, designated EDA-A1 and EDA-A2, that differ only by the deletion of two amino acids in the extracellular domain of EDA-A2. Despite this minor difference, the EDA isoforms display strong receptor specificity. EDA-A1 only binds EDAR, a member of the TNF Receptor superfamily (TNFRSF), whereas EDA-A2 binds to XEDAR, an X-linked TNFRSF member with high homology to EDAR. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
