- Dopamine D2 receptor is known to exist in the short (D2S) and the long (D2L) forms that are encoded by splice variants of a single gene and differ only by the presence of an additional 29 amino acid in the intracellular, cytoplasmic loop 3 (1). D2L receptor is a 446 aa, G-protein coupled and transmembrane receptor protein (3). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (Chemiluminescence technique). The predicted size of D2L form is approximately 50kD. However, additional bands at approximately 60 and 100kD, and others are typically seen in various tissues (2-3). Approximately 100-400ug of membrane protein/lane should be loaded to visualize various bands. ELISA: 0.5-1.0ug/ml (1ug/ml immunogen peptide/well) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
