Extra Details:
Dopamine beta hydroxylase (DBH) or Dopamine beta monooxygenase belongs to the copper type II, ascorbate-dependent monooxygenase family. DBH mediates conversion of dopamine to noradrenaline. It requires PQQ, copper and ascorbate for enzyme activity. DBH exists as both in a soluble form (in chromaffin granules) and as membrane bound anchored by its signal peptide. Its activity is enhanced by nerve growth factor, reserpine, acetylcholine and glucocorticoids. There are two known forms of the enzymes: DBH-A and DBH-B, which differ in one position. Human DBH is a 603aa protein (mouse 621aa; rat 620aa, bovine 610aa). DBH also contains a signal peptide that is cleaved in the soluble form. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 using Chemiluminescence. Human adrenal medulla DBH is ~70-75kD. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Peptide: D9010-07B: Dopamine Beta Hydroxylase, Human, Control Peptide (DBH, Dopamine beta Monooxygenase) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
