- Desertomycin A is a 42-membered macrocyclic lactone with broad spectrum activity against Gram +ve and Gram -ve bacteria, yeasts and fungi. There has been little investigation into the mode of action of desertomycin A. Source: Desertomycin A from Streptomyces sp. Molecular Weight: ~1192.5 Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Limited water solubility. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
