- Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filaments and are characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. They are represented in epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides, molecular weight between 40 kDa and 68 kDa. The individual cytokeratin polypeptides are designated 1 to 20 and divided into the type I (acidic cytokeratins 9-20) and type II (basic to neutral cytokeratins 1-8) families. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 10ug/ml with pretreatment: 0.1% pepsin, 30 min, 37°C, incubation 4°C overnight, chromogen DAB Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml using HeLa cells as a positive control Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Immunohistochemistry Positive Control: Human pancreas. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
