- Intercellular communication through gap junctions formed by connexin proteins plays an important role in a variety of cellular processes, including homeostasis, morphogenesis, cell differentiation and growth control. Gap junction channels form the basis of intercellular communication in the heart, and in the working myocardium, connexin40 (Cx40) is expressed in the atria and in the conduction system. Connexin 40 is also highly expressed in vascular endothelial cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and FLISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Requires HIER using 10mM sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 prior to staining. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™550 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
