Extra Details:
Type VII collagen is a newly characterized collagen which appears to be the major component of the anchoring fibril. Type VII collagen fibrils are composed of three identical alpha collagen chains. It's location is restricted to the basement zone beneath stratified squamous epithelia. It functions as an anchoring fibril between the external epithelia and the underlying stroma. Mutations in the collagen V11 gene are associated with all forms of dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. Applications: Suitable for use in Electron Microscopy, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: Acetone-fixed frozen only. Fixation in methanol is not suitable. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Normal skin Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
