- Clusterin, which is also known as Sulfated Glycoprotein-2 (SGP-2), Dimeric Acidic Glycoprotein (DAG), and Testosterone Repressed Prostate Message-2 (TRPM-2), is a disulfide-linked heterodimeric sulfated glycoprotein expressed in a variety of tissues. Although its function is unknown, clusterin binds to cells, membranes, and hydrophobic proteins. It also inhibits complement activation. Induced or elevated levels of clusterin have been associated with programmed cell death caused by hormonal stimuli or traumatic insult. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Detects human clusterin a chain (40kD) in RIPA lysates from HeLa cells, human serum and MCF-7 cell lysates. Immunohistochemistry: 5ug/ml (Paraffin embedded human brain sections). Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Recommended secondary antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06H IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
