- Choriogonadotropin (hCG) is a protein of the molecular weight about 40kD. It belongs to the glycoprotein hormone family together with lutropin (LH), follitropin (FSH) and thyrotropin (TSH). Choriogonadotropin is synthesised by trophoblastic cells of the placenta during pregnancy and stimulates the growth of corpus luteum. The other hormones are produced by anterior pituitary gland. All these hormones are structurally related, being composed of two noncovalently associated subunits alpha and beta. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
