- Extra Details:
- Cholera toxin is comprised of two subunits, A and B. Subunit A is an ADP-ribosyltransferase, which disrupts the proper signaling of G proteins, leading to cell dehydration. The 12kD nontoxic subunit B ("choleragenoid"), which is assembled into a 60kD pentamer above pH 2, allows the protein complex to bind to cellular surfaces via the pentasaccharide chain of ganglioside GM1. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Hybridization of SP2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
