- Isolated from Cercosporidium henningsii, cercosporamide was originally identified as a host-selective phytotoxin and broad spectrum antifungal agent. More recently cercosporamide was shown to inhibit a cell wall integrity pathway mediated through a serine/threonine protein kinase, Pkc1, that is central to cell wall biosynthesis. It is both potent (IC50 < 50nM) and selective for Pkc1 kinase inhibition. Source: Cercosporamide Molecular Weight: ~331.3 Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with ethanol, methanol, DMF or DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
