- CD137, also known as 4-1BB ligand receptor, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. CD137 is a potent costimulatory receptor for the growth and functional maturation of activated T-cells in the presence of T-cell receptor signal. It is found on activated T-cells, NK cells, monocytes and dendritic cells. Signaling through CD137 triggers Tcell expansion, cytokine production and prevention of activation-induced death of effector T-cells. CD137-mediated activation is distinct from and independent of CD28. Antibody cross-linking of CD137 on NK cells stimulates the secretion of IFN-gamma, cellular proliferation, CD25 expression and responsiveness to IL-2 and is associated with tumor activity, but not cytotoxicity. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Functional Studies. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: ≤0.25ug; 10ul labels 1x10e6 cells in 100ul. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
