Extra Details:: This gene is a member of the Ig superfamily and encodes a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. This type I membrane protein mediates leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and signal transduction, and may play a role in the development of artherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. Two alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Functional Studies, Immunohistochemistry and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: lymph node cryostat sections. Flow Cytometry: 1ug/10e6 cells Function studies: B-N8 can be used in studies of cell adhesion molecules. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
