- CD98 (also known as fusion regulatory protein-1, FRP-1) is widely distributed on hemopoietic and non-hemopoietic cells. The levels of CD98 expression is very high on most cell lines but is low on platelets and granulocytes. CD 98 expression is increased on lymphocytes after their activation. Erythrocytes do not express CD98. CD98 is a disulfate-linked 125kD heterodimeric membrane glycoprotein that is composed of an 80-90kD glycosylated heavy chain and a 40kD nonglycosylated light chain. It may be involved in the regulation of cellular activation. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Spleen cells from immunized BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the SP2/0-Ag14 mouse myeloma cell line. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
