- CD90/Thy-1, a GPI-anchored molecule and one of the smallest members of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, consists of a single V-set domain.1-4 It is expressed on thymocytes, peripheral T lymphocytes, some intraepithelial T lymphocytes and neurons of all mouse strains.1,2 This antibody stimulates T-cell proliferation and IL-2 secretion, via signalling through the T-cell receptor/CD3 complex.1,5-7 The antibody has also been reported to promote apoptosis of thymocytes and CTL clones,4,7 and to mediate adhesion of thymocytes to thymic stroma.8 CD90/Thy-1, a GPI-anchored molecule and one of the smallest members of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, consists of a single V-set domain.1-4 It is expressed on thymocytes, peripheral T lymphocytes, some intraepithelial T lymphocytes and neurons of all mouse strains.1,2 This antibody stimulates T-cell proliferation and IL-2 secretion, via signalling through the T-cell receptor/CD3 complex.1,5-7 The antibody has also been reported to promote apoptosis of thymocytes and CTL clones,4,7 and to mediate adhesion of thymocytes to thymic stroma.8 Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry, In vitro T cell activation and as Induction of apoptosis. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤ 1ug/10e6 cells. Immunocytochemistry: Acetone-fixed, frozen sections. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
