- CD83 is a 45kD type 1 glyoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Originally described as a maturation marker for dendritic cells, CD83 plays a role in the regulation of antigen presentation, thymic T-cell maturation, B-cell function and peripheral T-cell activation. Activated dendritic cells and B-cells release a soluble form of CD83 that is reported to have an immunosuppressive effect, suggesting a therapeutic role for sCD83 in the regulation of immune disorders. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only.
