- CD79a, also known as mb-1, is a 45kD protein that is expressed by B lymphocytes during differentiation from early pre-B cell stage through to plasma cells. The CD79a molecule associates with CD79b (B29) to form a heterodimer that is non-covalently linked to surface immunoglobulin, forming the B-cell receptor (BCR) complex. The CD79a/CD79b heterodimers are also necessary for intracellular signalling following antigen-binding to surface immunoglobulin. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:25; 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Required antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 is receommended. Immunohistochemistry: Frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human tonsil Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
