- The glycoprotein Ib-IX complex on the surface of normal platelets is a heterotrimer of Iba, Iba and IX subunits8. Ib-IX complex is an essential component of platelet adhesion to vascular subendothelium and is also important in the maintenance of platelet shape. This antibody is suitable for enumeration of platelets by flow cytometry and immunoperoxidase staining of frozen tissue sections or air dried smear preparations, and for identification of megakaryoblasts in acute myeloid leukemia or acute myelofibrosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:25. Dilute in PBS. Use 50ul of diluted antibody per 1x10e6 platelets in 100ul of buffer. Indirect immunofluorescence (IC): 1:10-1:25. Dilute in PBS. Use 50ul of diluted antibody per 1x10e6 platelets in 100ul of buffer. Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:50 using acetone or frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
