Extra Details:
Human CD36 is a major platelet glycoprotein also found on monocytes, macrophages and some endothelial cells. CD36 may play a role in cell adhesion as a receptor for thrombospondin. CD36 is a receptor for adhesion of malaria infected erythrocytes. CD36 is also proported to have a role in phagocytosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 5ug/ml. 80ul labels 5x10e5 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. FACS Protocol: 1. Five x10e5 ficoll prepared human peripheral blood lymphocytes were washed and preincubated 5 minutes with 20ul of 250ug/ml human IgG (to block non specific binding). 2. Incubated for 45 minutes of ice with 80ul of C2388-04A at a concentration of 5ug/ml. 3. Cells were then washed twice and incubated with a secondary reagent, IgM (FITC) Gt xMo 4. The cells were then washed three times, fixed and analyzed by FACS. 5. A net 16% sub population of the cells stained positive with a mean shift of 1.05 log10 fluorescent units when compared to a Mouse IgM negative control at a similar concentration. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
