- Extra Details:
- PECAM-1, also known as platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, or CD31, is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein, and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. CD31 is a surface protein expressed by endothelial cells, concentrated at the junction between them. It is also expressed at low level on all platelets and peripheral leukocytes. It has been reported that CD38 binds to CD31. Homotypic interaction of CD31 is important in cell-cell interaction, cell-matrix interaction and signal transduction. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Blocking Cell Adhesion. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1ug/10e6 cells Immunohistochemistry: Acetone-fixed, frozen sections. Not tested in paraffin sections. Blocking Cell Adhesion: Inhibits the aggregation of L cells transfected with a variant form of CD31. Optimal dilutions to be determined by researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
