- CD18 represents the common beta2 integrin subunit that associates non-covalently with the alpha beta chains of CD11a/LFA-1a, CD11b/Mac-1, and CD11c to form various integrin heterodimers. It is expressed strongly on lymphocytes and monocytes, and weakly on granulocytes, CD18 mediates a variety of heterotypic and homotypic intercellular adhesion reactions, and it regulates the ligand-binding activities of the various CD11/CD18 complexes. The antibody has not been reported to inhibit cell adhesion.1-4 Applications: Suitable for use in Identification and enumeration of CD18+ cells by Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤ 0.2ug/10e6 cells Immunohistochemistry: paraffin embedded and frozen sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
