- Extra Details:
- The CD14 molecule is found predominantly on monocytes and macrophages in Flow Cytometry; it is less strongly expressed on granulocytes, and is absent from stem cells and myeloid cells of very early differentiation states. In immunohistochemistry, the CD14 molecule is found to be present on Langerhans cells, follicular dendritic cells, histocytes and high endothelial venules. In ELISA, recognizes the soluble form CD14. Reported to block the binding of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to monocytes (2). Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to use in functional assays. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: Non-reducing conditions Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Hybridoma: Spleen cells from mice immunized BALB/c mice were fused with cells from the NS1-Ag4/1 mouse myeloma line. Recommended Negative Controls: Mouse IgG1 Negative Control Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
