- CD13 cell surface glycoprotein is a 150kD molecule expressed by granulocytes and monocytes and by myeloid leukemia cells. CD13 functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme and is also a receptor for coronavirus. Inhibits infection of cells by human coronavirus, inhibits aminopeptidase N activity of the CD13 molecule immunoprecipitates. CD13 functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme, a metalloprotease present as both a membrane bound form and also a soluble aminopeptidase N. Inhibits infection of cells by human coronavirus (Lachance et al. 1998) but not hepatitis C virus (Koutsoudakis et al. 2006) and inhibits aminopeptidase N activity of the CD13 molecule (Asmun et al. 1992) Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation and Flow Cytometry. Not recommended for Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: frozen Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100, use 10ul to label 10e6 cells or 100ul whole blood. Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher. Hybridoma: NS1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
