- CD11b (integrin alphaM subunit) combines with CD18 (integrin beta2 subunit) to form the integrin Mac-1, also known as complement receptor 3 (CR3), which mediates adhesion to C3bi and ICAM-1 (CD54).2-6 Mac-1 is expressed at varying levels on granulocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, NK cells, and B-1 cells in the peritoneal and pleural cavities.2, 7-10 In addition to its role in binding C3bi on opsonized targets and mediation of the subsequent ingestion process,4, 11 Mac-1 is important as an adhesion molecule in the transendothelial migration of monocytes and neutrophils.12 Applications: • Flow cytometry 1 • Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections) 13 • Immunoprecipitation 1 Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤ 0.3ug/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months.
