- The CD5, a transmembrane protein, is found on 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes. In lymph nodes, the main reactivity is observed in T cell areas. CD5 is expressed by many T cell leukemia, lymphomas, and activated T cells. Occasionally, CD5 antigen is also expressed on a subset of B cells. Mantle cell lymphomas (same as diffuse centrocytic lymphomas) are CD5+ while the follicle center cell lymphoma are CD5-. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin only). Not recommended for Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:20-1:40 for 30 min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Tonsil Hybridoma: p3-NS1.Ag4-1 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
