Extra Details:: CD4 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on approximately 70% of thymocytes, 15% of spleen cells and 40% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, but <1% of bursal cells.1 This antibody inhibits both PHA- and Con A-induced proliferative responses of splenocytes, and PWM-induced IL-2 production.1 Also reacts with turkey CD4 as demonstrated by flow cytometry and immunoprecipitation/Western blotting.3 Applications: • Flow cytometry 1 • Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections) 2 • Immunoprecipitation 1 • Inhibition of mitogen-induced proliferation 1 Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: ≤ 1ug/10e6 cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
