- Extra Details:
- At least five CD1 genes (CD1a, b, c, d, and e) are identified. CD1 is expressed on cortical thymocytes, Langerhans cells, and dendritic cells. It is absent on mature peripheral blood T cells but intracytoplasmic expression is detected on activated T lymphocytes. CD1 proteins have been demonstrated to restrict T-cell response to non-peptide lipid and glycolipid antigens and play a role in non-classical antigen presentation. Useful in the characterization of leukemias and lymphomas. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin): (1:50-1:100 for 30 min at RT). Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 1mM EDTA, pH 8.0 , for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Tonsil Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
