- Extra Details:
- Caspase 2 is a member of ICH1 group of cystein proteases involved in the activation of apoptotic pathway. It is synthesized as a procaspase2 containing a prodomain, a large subunit and a small subunit. RAIDD, another molecule involved in triggering the apoptotic pathway recruits caspase 2 through its CARD domain. Procaspase 2 iscleaved by active caspases 1 and 3 and granzyme into a heterodimer of large and small subunit, both of which are required for the activity. Caspase 2 exists in two isoforms, long and short created through the alternate splicing of the mRNA. The long form activates apoptosis while, the short form is inhibitory. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
