Extra Details:: Fully active CK-2; heterotetramer of 48.7kD a-subunit and 52.6kD b-subunit (a2b2). N-terminal 6X His-tagged full length human CKa subunit and N-terminal GST-tagged full-length human CKb subunit. expressed individually by baculovirus in Sf21 insect cells. The CKa subunit was purified using Ni2+/NTA-agarose, the b subunit using glutathioneagarose. Molecular Weight: α-subunit Mw 49kD (heterotetramer; α2β2). β subunit Mw 53kD (heterotetramer; α2β2). Applications: Suitable for use in Kinase Assays and MS Tryptic Fingerprint. Other applications not tested. Specific Activity: As Reported Unit Definition; 1unit of human Casein Kinase 2ab, active acitivity is 1nmol phosphate incorporated into 165uM casein kinase 2 substrate peptide (RRRDDDSDDD) per minute at 30°C with a final ATP concentration of 100uM. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
