Extra Details:
Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) is a 180kD tumor-associated cell surface glycoprotein. CEA is synthesized during development in the fetal gut. It is re-expressed in increased amounts in intestinal carcinomas and several other tumors. Anti-CEA is reportedly useful in identifying the origin of various metastatic adenocarcinomas and in distinguishing pulmonary adenocarcinomas (60-70% are CEA+) from pleural mesotheliomas (rarely or weakly CEA+). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Solid Phase Immobilization, Enzyme Conjugation and Radiolabeling. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Hybridization of P3X63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
