Extra Details:
Calreticulin was originally identified as a Ca2+ binding protein in the muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum. Since its original discovery, it has been found in high abundance in non-muscle tissue. Calreticulin has the ability to bind Ca2+ with high capacity but low affinity. The exact function of calreticulin is not yet known, however recent reports suggest that it may play a role in nuclear hormone receptor gene transcription and may also act as a chaperone protein. Calreticulin is 90% conserved among human, mouse, rat, rabbit and Aplysia. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: Detects calreticulin in tissue sections and cells. Optimal diltions to be determined by the researcher. Included Positive Antigen Control: F4209: Fibroblast Cell, 3T3/A31 lysate. Add 2.5ul 2-mercaptoethanol/100ul of lysate. Boil for 5 minutes to reduce the preparation. Load 20ug of reduced lysate per lane for Western Blot analysis. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.     Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
