Extra Details:
Calmyrin is identified as a calcium-binding protein with a molecular weight of ~22kD. Calmyrin displays various properties, including myristoylation, membrane-association, and colocalization with presenilin-2 (PS-2). Functionally, like presenilin, calmyrin causes cell death when overexpressed in HeLa cells. Interestingly, calmyrin coexpresses with PS-2, and induces additive effects in apoptosis. These results indicate diverse roles of calmyrin in cell signaling, cell death and Alzheimer disease through the modulation of presenilin function. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: FLISA: 0.1–1ug/ml Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
