- Bin1 is a ubiquitously expressed protein that interacts with the N-terminal region of the oncoprotein Myc. It inhibits cell transformation by Myc and has been implicted in Myc-mediated apoptosis. Bin1 is structurally related to amphiphysin, a breast cancer associated autoimmune antigen, and RVS167, a negative regulator of cell cycle in yeast. Bin1 is frequently absent in carcinoma cells and the gene maps to a hot spot for deletion in prostate cancer. Thus Bin1 has the features of a tumor suppressor and may play a role in apoptosis or cell cycle regulation. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitaton and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: detects Bin1 in a RIPA lysate of cells. Immunohistochemistry: Gives positive staining for Bin1 in C2C12, LNCap, HeLa, and Rat1 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. *Recommended secondary antibodies: I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo I1904-06H IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt xMo Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
