Extra Details:
Arginase catalyzes the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. At least two isoforms of mammalian arginase exist (types I and II) which differ in their tissue distribution, subcellular localization, immunologic crossreactivity and physiologic function. The type I isoform encoded by this gene, is a cytosolic enzyme and expressed predominantly in the liver as a component of the urea cycle. Inherited deficiency of this enzyme results in argininemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyperammonemia. Applications: Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA: 1:1000. Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml.~37kDa band observed in mouse and rat liver lysates (calculated MW of 35kD according to Rat NP_058830.2 and 34.8kD according to mouse NP_031508.1). Immunofluorescence: 10ug/ml. strong expression of the protein seen in the cytoplasm of HepG2 cells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
