Extra Details:
Human serum albumin is a single chain polypeptide which composes about 60% of the plasma proteins. In normal serum approximately 10% of the albumin is modified by non-enzymatic glycosylation which occurs primarily on lysine residue number 525. The amount of glycosylated albumin in serum is markedly elevated in diabetes and thus its determination may help in the monitoring of the disease. Studies also show that glycosylation of the protein alters its properties and this modification causes it to be ingested by endothelial cells in preference to unmodified albumin. Application: Suitable for ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: ELISA: 1:20,000-1:100,000 Western Blot: 1:2000-1:10,000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000-1:5000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
