Extra Details:: Aggrecan is also known as aggregating chondroitin sulphate proteoglycan. Aggrecan is the major proteoglycan present in articular cartilage, composing up to 10% of its dry weight. It is responsible for endowing articular with its intrinsic properties of load bearing and compressive forces. A1059-53C is a cleavage-site-specific monoclonal antibody for detecting metalloproteinase-derived aggrecan fragments. The antibody recognizes neo-epitopes on polypeptides with N-terminal FFGVG sequences. This sequence is found at the N-terminus of aggrecan fragments that have been digested with MMPs. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
