Extra Details:: Human Adiponectin, also referred to as AdipoQ, Acrp30, apm-1 or GBP28, is a secreted protein expressed exclusively in differentiated adipocyte (an adipokine family member). Adiponectin contains a modular structure comprising an N-terminal collagenous domain followed by a C-terminal globular domain (gAcrp30). Adiponectin plays a role in various physiological processes such as energy homeostasis and obesity. Plasma levels of adiponectin are reduced in obese humans, and decreased levels are associated with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
