Extra Details:: Herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) belongs to Herpesviridae, a family of viruses with several members that invade the human nervous system, causing a variety of illnesses including cold sores, chickenpox, shingles and various cancers. Herpes viruses may also cause encephalitis or infectious corneal blindness. HSV is transmitted during close contact with an infected person who is shedding virus from the skin, in saliva or in secretions from the genitals and commonly persists in latent infection. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50 ELISA: 1:20-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
