- Extra Details:
- Aflibercept biosimilar has the same amino acid sequence as Aflibercept (trade name Eylea), a recombinant protein composed of the binding domains of two human vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptors fused with the Fc region of human immunoglobulin gamma 1 (IgG1). It inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and is used in the treatment of macular edema following Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) and neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Aflibercept is a dimeric glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 96.9 kilo Daltons (kDa). Glycosylation adds its molecular weight to 115 kDa in total. Ziv-aflibercept (trade name Zaltrap) was developed as an injection for treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Neutralization, Functional Assays such as bioanalytical PK and ADA assays, and those assays for studying biological pathways affected by Aflibercept. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
