Extra Details:: Smac/DIABLO is one of the pro-apoptotic proteins normally found in the intermembrane space of the mitochondria. In response to apoptotic stimuli, Smac/DIABLO is released into the cytosol resulting in permeabilization of the mitochondrial membrane. Cytosolic Smac/DIABLO activates caspase-9 by binding IAP proteins. Changes in the expression level of Smac/DIABLO have been demonstrated in a number of human cancers including melanoma, ovary, and prostate. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot (ECL): 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 10ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
