- Epitope tagging is a widely accepted technique that fuses an epitope peptide to a certain protein as a marker for gene expression. With this technique, gene expression can be easily monitored on Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence utilizing an antibody that recognizes such an epitope. The Myc-Tag (EQKLISEEDL) corresponds to the partial peptide sequence of the human c-myc gene product. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1ug/ml, ECL Immunoprecipitation: 5ug/ml Immunocytochemistry: 2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
