Extra Details:: Bad is an ~22kD pro-apoptotic protein that aids in the initiation of cell death. It exhibits sequence homology to Bcl-2, a protein that prevents apoptosis, within its BH1 and BH2 domains. Bad is phosphorylated at several sites including Ser112, Ser136; phosphorylation by kinases like Akt is known to alter the effects of Bad. Bad has been demonstrated to be phosphorylated at Ser170. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 1:50 Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
