- CRTC2, also known as TORC2 (Transducers Of Regulated cAMP Response Element-Binding (CREB)) 2 and the related protein CRTC1 are potent CREB coactivators that are exported from the nucleus in a CRM1-dependent manner via phosphorylation-dependent interactions. Studies suggest that their phosphorylation and nuclear/cytoplasmic shuttling play an important role in the regulation of gluconeogenesis by cAMP. CRTC2 is present in both B and T-lymphocytes and abundantly expressed in the thymus. Its activity is important in regulating the expression of genes involved in cellular energy metabolism while CRTC1 is essential for energy balance and fertility. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Human Small Intestine Tissue Lysate, Human Small Intestine Tissue Slide Molecular Weight: ~67kD, 76kD (predicted), 70kD (observed) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
