Extra Details:
IgE is an immunoglobulin primarily produced from plasma cells and in normal serum, present at very low concentrations. IgE is important in both type 1 hypersensitivity and immunity to parasite infections, in particular parasitic worms where equine IgE levels are significantly elevated following infection. Monoclonal antibodies to equine IgE are of particular relevance to research into insect bite sensitivity, one of the most widely studied allergic diseases in equid species (Schaffartzik, A. et al. 2012). 553812 demonstrates a band of ~80kD under reducing conditions and a band of ~200kD under non-reducing conditions which correspond with the expected molecular weight of equine Ig epsilon chain and the complete equine IgE molecule, respectively (Wilson, D.A. et al. 2006). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA (indirect): 1:1000-1:10,000 Immunohistochemistry: frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: BALB/c mice were fused with cells of the mouse P3X myeloma cell line. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
