- CD166 is a member of the Ig superfamily and is expressed on activated T-cells, B cells and other cells including thymic epithelial cells, fibroblasts, keratinocytes and neurons. CD6 has been identified as a receptor for ALCAM (Skonier et al. 1996). 553770 is reported to cross-react with CD166 on sheep tissues and provides a useful tool for the identification and characterization of ovine mesenchymal stem cells in conjunction with CD44 which is expressed by this cell lineage and the hematopoietic cell marker CD45 which is not expressed on mesenchymal stem cells (Sanjurjo-Rodríguez et al. 2017). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 1:50-1:100, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry: frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: P3X63 Ag8 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
