Extra Details:: Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase phosphorylates the inositol ring of phosphatidylinositol at the 3-prime position. The enzyme comprises a 110kD catalytic subunit and a regulatory subunit of either 85kD, 55kD, or 50kD. PIK3R1 encodes the 85kD regulatory subunit. Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase plays an important role in the metabolic actions of insulin, and a mutation in PIK3R1 has been associated with insulin resistance. Alternative splicing of PIK3R1 results in four transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:100-1:300 ELISA: 1:40,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
