- Protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C alpha) is a Mn2+ - or Mg 2+ -dependent protein serine/threonine phosphatase that inhibits the human stress-responsive p38 and JNk MAPk pathways and regulates cellular stress response in eukaryotes. The PPM (metal-dependent protein phosphatase) family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases have recently been shown to down-regulate the stress response pathways in eukaryotes. Within the stress pathway, key signaling kinases, which are activated by protein phosphorylation, have been proposed as the in vivo substrates of PP2C alpha, the prototypical member of the PPM family. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
