Extra Details:: Recombinant monoclonal antibody to Notch 2. Manufactured using Recombinant Platform with variable regions (i.e. specificity) from the phage display derived scfv B9. Human Notch-2 is a 300kD member of the notch family of transmembrane (TM) proteins. It is synthesized as a 2446 amino acid (aa) type I TM glycoprotein that undergoes Golgi processing to generate a 180kD disulfide-linked extracellular domain (ECD) (likely aa25-1538) and a 110kD membrane bound truncated segment (likely aa1539-2471). Upon binding to Delta1, Jagged1, or Jagged2, the 110kD segment undergoes two cleavages, the second which generates an NICD (notch intracellular domain) (aa1697-2471), a potential nuclear transcription factor. In the nucleus, NICD regulates CSL pathways. When NICD is phosphorylated, it is deactivated. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry, and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
